Next Byte was founded in Christchurch with one simple goal: to make buying and selling gaming tech easy, fair, and trustworthy. We started as gamers ourselves, frustrated by the hassle and uncertainty of online reselling. So we built a local solution that puts people first.

  • Empowering Youth Through Access to Technology; NextByte is committed to creating positive opportunities for young people by providing access to refurbished gaming and computing gear. By donating older hardware that no longer meets resale standards, we aim to give children in care, underfunded schools, and youth programs the tools to learn, create, and explore safely.

  • Reducing Waste and Promoting Sustainability; NextByte pledges to minimize e-waste by responsibly recycling electronics and plastics that cannot be reused. Outdated or non-functional hardware will be diverted from landfills and either repurposed or sent to facilities that recycle components and materials for new uses, such as 3D printing filament or raw materials recovery.

  • Supporting Local First Responders; NextByte pledges to support local first responders, recognizing the dedication and risks they take to protect our communities. While we are a small business and our contributions may be modest, our commitment to backing those who face danger daily is strong. A portion of profits will be donated to local fire stations and emergency services to help fund equipment, training, and community programs.
